Few sneaks are more ground-breaking than the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Parley White. After all, when was the last time you wore a shoe made entirely from ocean plastic? This forward-thinking design brings awareness to a global catastrophe that is currently threatening our entire eco system. And you thought this was just another stylish runner?
Think again as adidas join the environment awareness group Parley to make a real difference to this exponential threat. As more rubbish and plastic continues to fill our oceans, hundreds of species now face extinction with mayor implications across the entire globe.
Earlier this year an Ultra Boost was commissioned in a limited size run in collaboration with Parley. Now adidas have stepped up production with a much larger run of this white coloured ‘Uncaged’. In fact, the brand have set a target of producing 1 million sneaks using ocean plastic by 2017.
This Uncaged model is actually crafted from plastic found by the Parley research team in the Maldives. A full white upper features subtle detailing of vibrant green – a subtle nod to the glimmering ocean. To complete the look, a white Ultra Boost sole sits underfoot and a set of tonal laces are included.
The adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Parley White is scheduled to release on Tuesday 15th November via the retailers listed.
